THE MARYLAND LADY STARS- ABOUT US
More then just a chant on the Basketball Court

The LADY STARS BASKETBALL ORGANIZATION is a non-profit, community-based youth sports organization whose primary objective is to develop leadership, sportsmanship and educational excellence in our youths. We accomplish this objective through sporting events that instill Teamwork, Growth and Development.

 For the past two years in a row, through sheer determination and plenty of hard work, our 13 & 15-year-old girls team from the Fort Meade, Maryland area finished with National Bids, Held during the Maryland State Amateur Athletic Union Qualifying Tournament in the month of May. These wonderful now 14 & 16-year old, Lady Shooting Stars were then invited to represent Maryland in the AAU National Championships in Orlando, Florida. The 13-year-old ladies finished in the final 8, and the 15-year-old ladies finished one game away from the Final Four Teams. We are just so proud of our ladies for their hard work and efforts.

Coaches, Players and their Parents are holding fund raising activities to help defray costs for basketball registration, tournament fees, lodging and travel expenses to include worn out basketball equipment. We are asking for your support!! Any donations from your organization would be greatly appreciated. For tax purposes Our Tax ID Number is listed above, and also we will add your companies name and address onto our web site. You will be listed as a Supporter of Community Youth Sports. We will invite you out to our end of year Awards Banquet. We will make your Organization apart of our Organization!

We do appreciate your consideration. This year (2005) our 16U Lady Stars placed 3rd in the State and have earned a Bid to the National Championships in Orlando, Florida, 11 July -20 July 2005. We are more determined this year! To return to the Div l or Div ll Championships, with a strong goal to win it all in 2005! Please show your support as we play our way to the top and bring home (Maryland) the National Championship Trophy! We look forward to hearing from you soon!!
